A Finished Object and Some Works in Progress

June 19th, 2005 by caitlyn

I finished the Irish Hiking Scarf last night! It will be a Christmas gift. I know it’s only June, but I decided to start knitting presents early since I’m slow and easily distracted. =o) Later on I might knit a cabled hat to match.

Here is what I’ve done so far with the Debbie Bliss Fiery Bolero. I’m about halfway through with the rows for the back. I’ve included some photos showing my cable cast-on increases on the sides and the bottom edge. Sarah from SnB and Gracie kindly pointed out that it’s okay if my edges are a bit ragged since they will be hidden anyway. Whew! What a relief! You know the story about the ugly duckling turning into the swan? That’s kind of how I feel about my Bolero right now. LOL hahahaaa I’m hoping it will turn into a swan! =o)

The Bijou Scarf is finished!

Finally Finished Cloud Poncho

June 5th, 2005 by caitlyn

Apparently I was in a finishing mood yesterday because I decided to take out my Cloud Poncho and seam it.

I don’t like how this poncho looks on me, but it’s probably my own fault. The pattern called for knitting a rectangle. I’m a small person so I shrunk the dimensions of the rectangle. I think I should have put more thought into how much I shrunk it. Like I should have decreased the length of the rectangle even more and decreased the width less because I think it looks too long in the front and too short in the back. I don’t think I’ll be knitting another poncho for awhile…if ever again!

After completing the Bijou Scarf and the Cloud Ponch yesterday, I cast on for the Irish Hiking Scarf. This is my first cable pattern and I’m enjoying it a lot!
